Process: I selected 3 different layers to isolate I clicked on the LAYISO icon in my menu bar All my layers were still on the screen, but the un-selected others outside of the 3 to be worked on, were now locked and still select-able by mouse and were faded by 50 percent

It isolates a layer but i can still see the other layers in the background Kind off like block editing in place where the the main interest is shown and the rest of the drawing fades out I would like my layiso to completely isolate a layer from the rest of the drawings I tried playing around with the fade level but it still doesn't work

When you start LAYISO command, you can specify "Settings" option before selecting object on the layer you want to isolate, then select "Lock and fade option", then fine-tune fade value, then select layer you want to isolate

In addition to Imad's suggestion, If a viewport is set up with the correct layer state, commands VPMAX and VPMIN will allow one to "go inside" to do any editing One is free to pan and zoom without loosing the viewport scale and position relative to the model space No need to lock the viewport for this suggested method ???

The layiso command seems to be working as before, but I cannot figure out why the layers locked this is the second file that this occurred in I did select settings from the layer properties palette and turned 'lock and fade' to off and 'in paper space viewport use' to off as well those were both on, dunno why
