- KG5ZOK’s TS-2000 Repair – Johnson Space Center . . . - W5RRR
Actually, this is a fairly common problem in Kenwood radios due to lower than average quality control in their wave-flow soldering In addition, early TS-2000’s are subject to slow death of crystal filters, due to a design problem allowing DC bias to pass through the filters, slowly destroying them
- Kenwood: - Another TS-2000 receive issue question . . .
I bought a nice lightly used TS-2000X and used it for my first ever Moonbounce QSO recently but the other night I noticed the audio was dropping to a very quiet level as was the received strength on seemingly all bands
- KENWOOD TS-2000 INTERMITTENT STOP TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE
Both TS-2000's had an intermittent problem THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! The radio would work fine then all of a sudden, it would stop TX and RX Display worked fine, it continued to switch bands, frequencies and everything was still lit up You would shut off the radio and turn it back on and it would start working normal again
- TS-2000 low power output on transmit - Groups. io
Overall, the radio is in good cosmetic condition, with no obvious physical damage I have never owned one of these, and am totally unfamiliar with it So the problem: Good news - receive works fine on all bands Bad news - varying levels of low output power on all bands
- TS-2000 No TX RX Possible Repair - eHam. net
In one particular situation I sent my TS-2000 in twice for repair, along with a carefully written letter explaining the problem Each time I'd get the equipment back with a letter from Kenwood saying they could not find my explained problem and the unit was found to be working properly
- TS-2000 Filter Problem – Static Crashes and No S Meter - K2DSL
The problem is not the filters, but both the FT-857 97 and TS-2000 have a circuit flaw The filter is supposed to having a resistor for DC blocking, but it looks as though Kenwood and Yaesu BOTH didn’t include a resistor in the circuit!
- Follow-up to my Kenwood TS-2000 trouble (good news inside!)
Actually the problem is an open RFC between the ground of the cw key socket and the actual ground It's a common problem sadly Check http: kc8qvo blogspot ca 2009 07 ts-2000-cw-keying-problem-diagnosed html It's a surface mount so it would not have been obvious to your Elmer
