Put it on craigslist for a couple weeks nothing Finally sold it on consignment at Guitar Showcase for pennies on the dollar after it sat for a couple months I doubt the reason I had so much trouble selling it was because it was a Carter, more likely because pedal steels are seen as an oddity in the SF Bay Area

Are you sure the band wasn't from the Tampa Bay area? You are describing the musicians around here to a "T" The thing about steel the band hasta be very clean sparse for the subtleties of the steel to come through volume ain't the answer; it's all about the rhythym section knowing how to play clean sparsly

As far as being in an area where steel guitar is unpopular, you can't even buy a steel guitar in a music shop around here let alone get lessons Even Craigslist is absent of steel guitars unless I want to drive 150 miles or so I can't even find a used steel in a pawn shop in this area
