Hi, I'm over 55 and have just £1,000 in a NEST pension for a job I diid over 5 years ago This is not my main pension and I would like to cash it in and close the account to pay for a holiday

The nest fees are fairly unique in that that charge 1 8% for new contributions (which is high) but the ongoing fee of 0 3% is competitive So I would just keep it When you take it you don’t have to set up an annual pension take 25% tax free then take via drawdown the rest over 1 or 2 tax years to only pay 20% tax on it

And especially not keen on the (best performing) Sharia fund Every time NEST gets mentioned it generates negative remarks my two pence; NEST is a big robust scheme with essentially a state backing Yes the options are limited But that keeps it simple There is no charge to transfer in out unlike lots of other pensions

We suspect this is Nest but can’t prove this No resolution to this ongoing saga and the money £5000 is still not been paid into the account Nest have email addresses and have our banking details which you have advised on several occasions Nest are repaying this money as of recorded calls Why 5 month on have you still not done this action
