The Home Depot store employee who set everything up told us that their carpet subcontractors were great, but he has a harder time recommending the local hardwood and tiling subcontractors because of customer issues (also those jobs are less forgiving than carpet) Also, you can ask HD who they use as subcontractors and google them for reviews

There are pros and cons to buying it from home depot vs the plumber buying it from a wholesaler Main thing is warranty issues If the heater has problems the plumber that installed it will be able to either replace the unit or change parts with ease, won't have to call customer service and deal with all the bs
