One of the more common issues I come across is the installation and configuration of a head-tracking clip hat and head-tracking software To help these new players, I took it upon myself to write a clear and elaborate guide that will help anyone setup a new head-tracking system with the use of Opentrack I will keep the topics separated by

I don't turn off head tracking to re-set my head position, I just hold down the Num 5 key and move the head position with the other Num Pad keys While holding the Num 5 key I press the F10 key to set that as my default head position I have F7 assigned as my Opentrack view center key so as to not conflict with the sim F10 key

As far as camera adjustments they need to be made using the camera's software On the PS3 eye-camera there is a driver available to use it on a PC As far as frames rates go the highest I can get on the c270 is around 30, on the PS3 eye I can get 70 fps, and the head tracking is much smoother with the PS3 eye

It could even be how the tracking rig is attached to your headset, if it is shifting or moving as you move your head around the lights would be in a different spot and then it would drift a bit Or if there is backlighting or reflections behind you, it can sometimes screw up your tracking So is it happening immediately upon tracking starting?

When I move my head closer to the screeen, in order to have the Y input, occlusion quickly occurs (2 LEDs get too close together, tracking stops) Apart from occlusion, when close to the screen, with some headmovements, some of the LEDs are outside of the camera's view pyramid

It works fine and the leds are quite visible even if you turn your head to side ways The camera seems to be in lower resolution than track ir5 or the leds are brighter I had the camera attached to wall behind the monitor, same place I had my TIR5 camera
