I'd just skip 28 Weeks Later and watch 28 Days Later instead 28 Days is a pretty good film, puts an interesting twist on the whole "zombie apocalypse" style of film, and has some good characters and scenes 28 Weeks, in my opinion at least, is a poorly written, badly done pile of crap, and isn't worth the time you'd waste to watch it

HBOMax just added 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later to their library I couldn't pass the opportunity so I saw them both back to back It was an incredible journey! I don't really have any complaints about the first one and the second one is awesome too The second film has one of the most intense intros to a film I've ever seen!!!

We can only speculate until either there is explicit confirmation or won't know until closer to release I don't think Weeks will be retconned out of canon, I think the first indication of that is that the film even being called 28 Years Later-- as in continuing the naming convention started with that film -- which would make removing it somewhat messy and confusing for general audiences

Every bad thing that happened in 28 Weeks Later was caused by the American characters' incompetence and or apathy Don may have been the more immediate, in-your-face threat, but I couldn't help but think that Danny Boyle wanted the movie to be an allegory for how the American military screws things up all around the world, or something like that
