- 20,000 mile service question | Harley Davidson Forums
My 20,000 mile service thoughts I bought a used 2011 FXDC this year with 15,000 miles on it I'm not sure about prior service being performed by a qualified tech, on this bike For example the oil is overfilled so it blows out the breather bolts and drips on the bike and soils the intake filter
- My 10,000 Mile Service - Harley Davidson Forums
Make sure it's the Official H-D Service Manual specific to your model year 2) Get yourself a quality Motorcycle Lift Don't be cheap If you're going to do your own maintenance it's best to have quality equipment In the long run, the lift will pay for itself I highly recommend the J S Big Wheel Motorcycle Lift
- 15k service! - Harley Davidson Forums
15k is a simple one, engine, tranny, and primary oil change, primary chain adjustment, clutch adjustment, clean air cleaner, check tires and spokes if applicable, drive belt, throttle adjustment, check brake fluid, check brake pads, check brake caliper pins, overall check of the caliper (boots, bushings, etc), check spark plugs, make sure all electrical equipment and switches are working
- Jack or lift for servicing your bike. | Harley Davidson Forums
I use all three versions: Harbor Freight table lift with mods, HF motorcycle jack and a (yes cheap) center jack and a "Big Red" motorcycle jack Off the bat I disqualify the BIG RED! That POS has dropped 1 Sportster and 1 SGS I have zero trust in this P O S Mods made to the table lift:Replaced the wheel chock with one that WORKS!
- 10k mile service cost - Harley Davidson Forums
Lots better and cheaper to invest in a HD service Manual and do it yourself Service and all the juices can run over 300 bucks depending on stealer At home in the garage, oils for all 3 holes might run 50 bucks for all synthetic stuff Already have a million O-rings for the plugs Spark plugs ought to still be good at 10K
- Service Costs at local H-D dealer - Harley Davidson Forums
I bought a used bike from a dealer, and paid the $$$ for the 10k service But, I feel confident I have a good starting point for doing my own service now My dealer has been good to me, so I can't complain Still, I found an old school shop in the area that will do the same or better work for about 1 2 the $$
- Feedback on the Harbor Freight motorcycle lift?
Go for it, you won't be sorry I added the H F ride in chock with the black up-right(currently $45 99 w cp) The ride in is much more stable safer for mounting dismounting s
- Harley Davidson service lift.
I also bought a 1000 lb motorcycle lift from Princess Auto for $500 00 It does a good job of lifting the bikes more to my level, which makes it not so hard on the back Can be operated with an air compressor or the foot pump I also have a Mini lift 1100 I use them all 1,000 lb Air Hydraulic Motorcycle Lift | Princess Auto This is the Mini
- Are all the service intervals THAT critical? - Harley Davidson Forums
I have watched the service departments do a $400-$500 1k service and it is mostly a joke They change the fluids - about $55 in fluids and a filter Then they supposedly 'check' a long list of nuts and bolts, which they don't really check very well, if at all I've never seen a Harley tech put a torque wrench on a bike at any service point
- Service history - Harley Davidson Forums
I bought a 2002 Electra Glide Ultra Classic from a second owner who had no clue about the bike's history He bought it used from my local dealer The engine has Screamin' Eagle heads on it and I have no idea (neither does the dealer), what other motor work was done to it Is there some way I can
