However, when I run speedtest net from any of my pcs in the network I seem to cap out at 150~160mbps I thought maybe it's that wifi connection between the wireguard server and gateway So I plug my laptop directly to the gateway and head over to speedtest net in chrome and I get the same 150~160mbps I go back to my phone and tried the app

Update: After testing my speedtest with the servers set to the same location as most of my actual downloads, I'm getting speeds closer to 1200Mbits, which is much more in line with my actual download speed This seems to be the most likely explanation so far Thanks to everyone who replied! Maybe speedtest was just overloaded at the time, or the unique pathway to it was congested, or they are capping free tests or whatever And fast com was not busy, or closer to you, or whatever Like all tests, the bigger and more varied the sample size, the closer you'll get to your true results

Latency main factor that would make Speedtest inaccurate is distance Speedtest usually looks for closest server to you If the server you have issue with is somewhere further, you'll have more latency In gaming, that's why your ping is higher when you're in server out of your region

I will bear in mind Speedtest server speed when ISP changes, thanks For now my selected server works on my current 500mbit line Ill keep a closer eye on it come swapping to 900mbit time Any particular reason you run it every 30mins? or just for finer granularity for averages? u ThiefClashRoyale, thank you so much!
