- Varifocals - Asda vs Specsavers field of vision comparison
Specsavers hadn't been able to find the details of my previous glasses order from a different branch over 5 years ago probably (index, precise lens) but I guessed they were 1 67 Elites with 1 5 for the sunglasses Of course Asda cannot take responsibility for Specsavers prescription but they've had a few goes at it over the years
- Varifocals from Asda? - MoneySavingExpert Forum
For example, Specsavers do the 2 for 1 offer on glasses (above £69) which I recently took advantage of by buying a pair of reading glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses Total cost £89 (both pairs were £89 each)
- Varifocals - Asda vs Specsavers field of vision comparison
Took it along to Asda and ordered a pair of varifocal photochromics, clear varifocals and readers all for £154 Commented again about the photochromics and they advised I should be fine with the different frame I had chosen since the lens was much larger and would collect more light, made no difference, bought a decent pair of overspecs for about £15 off Amazon
- Best Varifocal Lenses? - MoneySavingExpert Forum
I've bought my glasses from Asda for about 12 years now, with varifocals for the last 6 or so There is no choice of varifocal lenses with them, so no premium version, just a standard lens, but I've always been happy with mine
- Specsavers - high prices, and is there any real difference between the . . .
Specsavers and Asda Opticians still represent the best value from the chain opticians Specsavers have 4 main varifocal options Standard, premium, elite and tailor made The main difference between them is the design, quality and manufacturing process In real terms there is a noticeable difference in the field of clear view you get

Got varifocal clears from Asda for £45 and since both eyes are now balanced with the new lenses after my surgery my sight is better than its been since I was 8, total revelation So to pamper myself I ordered a pair of 45% tints and a pair of 75% tints (varifocals) from Asda’s 2 for £120 sunspec range
- First varifocal lenses glasses: Go for the best?
Well, and then you go to the Specsavers site and see the offers: Until the end of March, their Premium Varifocals "with the latest technology" for £219, incl a £75 frame, incl a second pair of glasses free ("The second pair of glasses are available in the basic version" - not sure whether this also means 'Premium Varifocals' or Standard cheapest ones)
- Best place to buy varifocals - MoneySavingExpert Forum
Asda do them at the same price as standard lenses, but they are not the high end ones that give more clarity Another option is a pair for reading and one for distance (Asda don't do a free pair but the second pair is very cheap, actually making it cheaper than having a free pair elsewhere )

As noted previously I bought a pair of Asda vari focal specs for £45 all in, brilliant best varifocals I have ever had Also ordered 2 pairs of tinted varifocals (£90 in total) which did not arrive since the frames had been discontinued, not happy, should not have happened

Asda optical staff are not just pulled off tills and set dispensing! We are all trained to the same legal standards as everywhere else in the area We are all trained in fitting glasses, adjusting glasses, using pre-test machines and selecting appropriate lenses for prescriptions
