Re: Duncan Design HB-103 Humbuckers I actually like both pickups, and am starting to find sounds that actually work with the split pickup setting I almost don't want to change anything, but the low E gets really muddy Still,much better than any guitar in this price range hands down

Re: DCJ = Duncan Custom wound by J mj is maricella juarez knows more about pickup making then all but about 3 people on the planet, as near as i can tell she runs the custom shop at SD and has been with seymour for a LONG LONG time she was very sweet and kind and welcoming at UGD, then strictly "no nonsense" once folks got into the custom shop to work with her making their custom

what are the Seymour Duncan equivalents - or the closest within SD's range - to the Gibson Burstbucker 1, 2, 3 Pro? the 1, 2, 3 have A2s, Pros have A5s just curious Gibson Custom Shop R8, R9, R0 reissues use Burstbucker 1 (neck) 2 (bridge) Jimmy Page Custom Shop model uses "custom" Burstbucker pickups, doesn't really say 1, 2, 3 or Pro

Re: my little review between Duncan Custom and Duncan Custom Five I used the Custom in my dual humbucker Squier Strat for a couple of years and still prefer it overall to the Custom 5 I play blues and jazzy rock No metal whatsoever The Custom 5 almost always seemed to sharp and trebley to me and to me, this is because it needs more midrange

Whatever the Fortunas are, they sound pretty good here, imo Single sounds like SSL1 to me, has that piano-like clang and scooped mid; hb seems to have a generous amount of top end and tight everything else
