Looking to purchase a new 3 row mid-size family SUV I need the configuration of seats to be 2-2-3 (so middle row is captain's chairs) Also trying to stay under 60-65k sticker So far have basically narrowed it down to: Honda Pilot Toyota Highlander Lincoln Aviator Cadillac XT6 My main considerations to get this list were:

Honestly, and I say this from experience… just get the minivan, and have a “cooler” car suv you daily and can use for date nights and what have you I’m in the reverse situation as you, where I would prefer the family car to be a minivan, but my wife wanted a 3 row SUV

Interior is pretty nice too The 2nd row will fit a skinny adult with 2 car seats as long as your car seats are not ginormous It won't be very comfortable The 3rd row is pretty small and getting back there is a pain and trunk space is non-existent with the third row up If you're going to regularly use a 3rd row, get a minivan

The XC90 is just the best looking, super comfy interior and above all it’s super quiet The insulation makes it such a refined quiet driving experience, add in a proper sound system and it’s the best for longer rides And in my biased opinion the best in class when it comes down to build quality, leaving the germans far far behind

CX70 is just a CX90 with no third row Like it’s the exact same car full stop Just get the CX90 and fold the third row down so you get the same cargo space and at least you HAVE a third row in the off chance you need one Best option from these three is the Highlander Bonus points with the hybrid
