I took greyhound a lot when I was in college and grad school The major east coast routes between Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC are nice Newish buses, leave from a fine part of town, etc The couple of times I took greyhound in the south was much less good Old smelly buses, stations were in sketchy areas

I traveled Greyhound a lot in the U S northeast and it was usually fine In that region, Greyhound may serve routes that either are not covered by flights or are too expensive to fly most of the time I've since taken Bolt Bus and it was comparable to Greyhound I've done a little Greyhound travel in California and it has been unpleasant

I've found myself on a great run of watching some really good movies lately, notable among them was Tom Hanks' Greyhound Had wanted to see it since the trailer came out pre pandemic as I'm a big ww2 nerd and I loved it I'm absolutely amazed that Tom Hanks is the sole writing credit (from what I can see)

Ive taken Flixbus in Europe and it was fine I've taken perfectly fine greyhounds too And note that greyhound often sells other bus companies tickets now too including flixbus They have over 2000 stations The US just isn't big on train or bus travel Greyhound is the largest US bus company so a lot really depends on your city route

Me and my girlfriend decided to take a weekend trip to Washington D C from Newark to sight see and visit local museums The trip was great but our experience with Greyhound was a nightmare Our initial bus to DC was scheduled at 7:30PM and it didn’t show up until 9:50PM

I’d line up as early as possible since you’ll get your choice of seat You’re drop off in Austin is the only greyhound station in the city so that is where you will get back on to return to San Antonio Be aware there is a megabus station in Austin in as well so if you’re asking for directions back to greyhound be specific
