There's a different utility called I used on my G5 5587 a bit ago and it would only let my fans spin to 4900 rpm no matter what where the default Dell BIOS curve would let the CPU throttle and then spin up to 5500 Subsequently had my motherboard replaced with one that had bios 1 3 on it that had the better fan profile so haven't had to tinker yet

I just bought Dell G15 and experience the same with Dell Support assist maybe I will just not use that Dell support assist as it also crashed my laptop I used Dell Update software for the update of its bios and anything within my laptop I used AVG driver update to update other drivers as Dell wasn't able to do that really and used AVG tuneup to optimize my system

I think they started preinstalling this app when Dell switched from shipping the systems with Win 10 22H2 instead of 21H2, because older systems but same model did not had this preinstalled I cant'f find any information at dell com nor does this app gets listed when searching for drivers etc at dell support

You may find this post I made a few months ago helpful, To summarise: When the laptop is fully charged the battery is effectively bypassed when charging turning the power cord into a power supply for the laptop, so instead of the laptop running off of the battery which is then constantly topped up, the battery is left fully charged and untouched and the charger directly powers the components
