I think the Valve Index is still a great VR HMD for 2024, the experience is pretty close to the same on both HMD's Quest 3 audio is OK but the Valve Index audio is great For VRChat and Phasmophobia, I prefer the Valve Index for this reason alone VR Render settings Quest 3 2064x2272 = 4689408, Valve Index 2016x2240 = 4515840

Being both the runner of a Plex server full of content, plus having and Index and just getting a new gpu I feel very qualified fo offer my 2 cents here I use VirtualDesktop + MPC-HC + MadVR Virtual desktop allows me to use any video player I want I use HPC-HC with MadVR for the video rendering

Just an update, I fixed it with no help from Steam Support What worked for me was uninstalling video drivers in windows 11 safe mode > reinstall them after restart > then go into SteamVR and hit developer > uninstall USB Drivers > Exit VR and unplug the headset > uninstall SteamVR > Uninstall Steam > Reinstall Steam and then plug in the headset after that I got through the tutorial and went

3 weeks ago, i got my valve index set, and right away noticed the "no click" problem and i have to press really really hard to get an input i also noticed a black or dark purple line on the left camera of the headset, and a crackling noise from the left speaker, when certain sounds where playing

As an Index owner, I just ordered Varjo Aero now that they have slashed its price to $990 It seems a much better upgrade path than the Quest 3 given I can re-use the Valve controllers and light houses Eye tracking with foveated rendering will also be a huge plus, not to mention the slightly higher resolution panels that the Aero provides
