When using eocalc is the recommended use per lbs of oils used or for the total amount of oils in the recipe Eg I'm making a 32 ounce batch of 100% tallow soap using Litsea EO Eocalc says safe usage is 32 oz So it that the total I can use for the whole batch or is that 32 oz lbs ? Thanks!

It's at 1% last time I checked!!! But, as far as I know EOCalc is supposed to be reasonably accurate I've decided that, to use up my essential oils, I will need to use them in blends In December 2024, @paradisi gave me some really helpful information about how to read an EU Allergen sheet in order to create blends that don't violate IFRA

Allright, here it goes I've made quite a lot of soap lately and tried a bunch of new eocalc blends All blends were used at 5% of oils Salient - I didn't have lemon EO, so I used a blend of lemongrass and litsea instead (25% lemongrass, 20% litsea instead of 37% lemon and 8% litsea) It turned out quite citrussy, but does smell faintly of

My soap calc saponicalc I use is telling me 3% of EO in my recipe should be 29 3g but EOcalc is telling me that 3% is only 14 7g feeling confused about this My batch is 979 76g of oils before adding lye I want to put 3% Star Anise and 3% Lavender 40 42

Eocalc has anise star at 5% (compared to total batch weight) It makes a big difference if you are talking dividing by the oil weight or the total batch weight I don't know if there is a difference between anise essential oil and anise star essential oil Eocalc is pretty legit, though, and seems very thorough and scientific and I trust it

Recently, I've been using some soaps with eocalc blends, so I wanted to come back to share my experience I used a soap that I made with highbrow in January 2020 (so a bit over a year old), that smelled amazing! I think the cedar lingered on my hands a bit after washing (which I don't often experience with EO scented soap)
