2011-2014 trucks can use PID EGT11 as it should be the first OEM EGT sensor located on the DPF unit 2015+ trucks have a OEM EGT sensor pre-turbo so use PID EGRT11 The reading will not go below 392* F since it's an OEM sensor I would guess 392*F or below Ford doesn't care about EGTs Deleted trucks can use a OEM EGT sensor or aftermarket EGT

I found 5 EGT PIDs in the CTS3: EGT, EGT1, EGT2, EGT3, EGT4 I've seen diagrams that place 1 through 4 farther down the exhaust system I called Edge about the EGT PID They weren't clear on that sensor's location, but I assume it's in the exhaust manifold, possibly pre-turbo It runs hotter than the EGT1, so makes sense it's closer to the turbo
- Where is this EGT sensor? | Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum
Unfortunately the edge isn't very accurate with the factory egt's I have the cts3 with the EAS egt probe in a plate where the egr pipe used to be off the exhaust manifold It was a bit over 100 degrees cooler than it read the factory egt High EGTs could be from a number of things most notably boost leaks No check engine light? This truck all
- Upgrading Edge CTS to CTS3 , EGT not working.
So my old edge cts finally stopped working, so I ordered the new CTS3 to replace it I have my old EGT probe starter kit from the CTS setup which worked fine on the CTS It plugs right into the CTS3 harness I bought the CTS3 so that it would be an easy swap out and just plug in the EGT sensor
- Anyone who has had an EGT sensor fail, please read
I am betting this is simply programming to change the fault strategy with a EGT sensor fault DTC Hopefully allowing you to still drive the vehicle rather then stranding you on the side of the highway Ive got 111k on my job 1 and never had a sensor issue yet(knock on wood) I will probably program mine this week sometime when I get the time

The EGT's were the thing I was really watching because we were always hauling our RV trailer behind us - in the mountains I guess the EGT concern is a holdover from 'old Betsy' because I understand that if I keep our new truck stock (just like if I'd left the old 7 3 stock), Ford has stuff set up to prevent any trouble
