What is the JSPI1 connector on my motherboard Hi guys My new mother board is a K9A Platinum and near the SATA connectors there is pinheads called JSPI1 Does anybody know what the goal of this JSPI1 is ?
Reprogram BIOS on bricked board through JSPI1 port Yes, I have done it a couple of times on my P45 Platinum Board Although, I did not use a pre-built programmer but made one myself (all it takes is a few wires, a couple of resistors, a second system with a parallel port and a few caps)
A couple of questions related to JSPI1 flashing Thank you for the answer I wasn't a big fan of pulling out the CPU since it will probably be a little bit of hassle to do so safely and require me to clean the IHS and cooler and apply a new layer of thermal compound but if it's safer doing so then I will do it
LPT to JSPI1 connector on 790FX-GD70 motherboard The chip reported is MX25L8005 This is correct, as that is what it says on the chip itself The circuit diagrams have resistors to bring the power down to 3 3 volts
Using Jtpm1 as Jspi1 for BIOS patching - MSI Global English Forum Not clear what you are asking, (near the USB headers) there is JTBT1 which is for connection with Thunderbolt card, and (near the SATA connectors) JTPM1 which is for Trusted Platform Module connection
MSI Global English Forum make sure you use only a 1 8V VCC on the chip as it is a low voltage chip and accepts only a 1 8V power line to the chip
