Yup - - Spectrum is looking for more revenue! Renting Xumo Box's is one way Forcing those with TV's 8 years old or older to get them is a way to make that happen faster Outside of that, there is no real reason to disable the app on the older models Spectrum hasn't updated their app in years,

(It does appear correctly using a Xumo box ) However, if I exit by going to the top menu of the Spectrum app and click on the square with the arrow, (next to the settings gear), the startup channel is preserved and appears when I return to the Spectrum app

It is possible that they are having technical issues, but it is also likely with the various mergers and or streaming channels going out of business that they have either merged with another company or stopped streaming those channels because they were not profitable That has happened quite a bit in the last year, even with some of the major players trying to find a way to increase viewership

Re: new roku ultra hisense 55 xumo tv - no voice controlled volume The Ultra (which is receiving and acting upon the voice commands) can only control the volume via CEC I don't know if it's necessary or if it will make a difference, but try using "CEC setup" under Settings->Remotes devices->Remotes-> [your remote]
