- Experience as a 12Y : r army - Reddit
Being a 12Y won't necessarily get you any credentials but you will definitely have a solid background to step into some GIS related positions As for deployment the Geospatial Engineers job is to help the commander visual the terrain to make informed decisions

35G Geospatial Intelligence Imagery Analyst or 12Y Geospatial Engineer Hi everyone! I'm just about to reenlist with the RA, I'm trying to decide whether to go in as 12Y Geospatial Engineer or 35G Geospatial Intelligence Imagery Analyst I have a BA in Environmental Science with concentration of GIS
- 35G vs 12Y : r nationalguard - Reddit
The 12Y is going to be more technical using GIS software to create map and data products If you wanted to work in GEO Intelligence then 35G would be the way to go Although I’ve heard in certain units 12Y work with 35G I believe 12Y overall have more technical skills and diverse skillset
