I have a 1020 flex head on a 2144 combine, I have the head tiped ahead as far as it will go raised the back end up, am runing with the flex in the middle most of the time but would like to cut white bean a little closer any suggestions

Plowboy, Seems like the owner's manual has changed a little over the years In the 1600 and 2100 owner's manual it said to run so the lowest bar was at least 1_8 above the feeder house bottom, and it did not matter if you ran the front drum in the top notch like most of us do in corn or in the middle notch like we do cutting wheat or other small grain crops

are you sure there are bolts in the front of the seiveIJ I have a 2144 and i think it would be the same as a 1660 There have only been 2 bolts in the rear of any of the seives that I have ever had on any of the rotories i have had (1440,1640, 2144) Sometimes the front is a bit snug and a bit hard to loosen from the flange it slides into but I

We have a 2144 and run a 4-36 corn head with no problem in 225+ 25% corn Run a 20' grain head in soybeans on hills with no problem Kinda wish we had a 22 5 but would probably want the field tracker if we stepped up to that
