- Ambi-safety -vs- Single Safety - Brian Enoss Forums
I must admit of being quite amused by the "ambi safety breakage" issues that have been recently raised in the forums I mean, I have a SS Colt 1911 to which I fitted a Wilson tactical ambi safety, and a box stock Competition SVI for Standard Division, which sports an Ed Brown ambi safety

+1 for the EGW machined ambi which is in my main Ltd gun Its a solid unit with a sleeve that passes through the grip safety hole and keeps the two halves together The machined Ed Brown I have in my backup is nice too I exert a lot of downward force on the ambi when I shoot Thus, I've broken a Wilson and STI ambi safety
- To Ambi or not to Ambi? That is the question - 1911-style Pistols . . .
3 gun comp shooter here Another reason I went non ambi was that when I would throw the pistol in the dump area that it was easily possible that the safety would disengage With a non ambi I can throw it down on that side without having to worry about the safety which is a big time penalty Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
- Is an ambi safety needed? - Brian Enoss Forums
The only reason for an ambi safety is to get safety on and off while the pistol is in your weak hand There's no need for that in competition Tactical use could be different

If we were talking CZ Shadow, then yeah that ambi safety is a buggar, but 1911 or 2011 easy money I like the ambi because I can hold the gun better with my left thumb on the safety while shooting weak handed It just fells right My safety comes off as I push the gun out just before I acquire a sight picture or dot still pushing the gun out
- What ambi safety do you like and why - Brian Enoss Forums
I used to run EGW HD single sided thumb safeties on all my 1911's Now I have switched to the Lone Star Innovations Tactical Ambi Thumb Safety Glenn makes awesome products and his thumb safeties have a lifetime warranty
- Which Ambi Safety for STI 2011??? - Brian Enoss Forums
Lone star innovations makes a nice ambi safety, I had a tactical wide that was very nice Iirc I got it on speed shooters website There are several others, I have medium sized hands and the wide portion was perfect for resting my thumb Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
