- ATF+3 vs. Atf+4? | BobIsTheOilGuy
ATF+4 is backwards compatable with ATF+3 THe Cf is the same for the two fluids ATF+4 has better cold and hot temp performance and is more restant to oxidation You can use ATF+3 anyplace ATF+4 is called for I really do not see why you would want to do this though! ATF+4 is a really good fluid!!! What I like to do is order C+ATF from Redline
- Amsoil Multi-Vehicle ATF? ATF+4? Debate settled?! - Bob is the Oil Guy
Greetings, I've seen about two threads here talking about whether or not you should use Amsoil's Multi-Vehicle ATF in applications that call for ATF+4 I plan to get a friend a transmission fluid drain and fill this weekend, and want to use Amsoil's Multi-Vehicle ATF as it claims compatibility with ATF+4
- Trying ATF in Harley primary | BobIsTheOilGuy
But I'm loving the extra smoothness the ATF provides as you feather out the clutch when in gear Also, I'm no engineer but logic would make me guess there's nothing going on in a Harley primary in the way of plates, bearings, gears, etc that you don't see in cars trucks that use ATF for many times the OCI a Harley would see
- Mazda ATF-FZ Alternatives (List) | BobIsTheOilGuy
I put together a list of alternatives for the OEM Mazda ATF-FZ automatic transmission fluid The manufacturer datasheets specify Mazda ATF-FZ as an application I've included general internet prices and kinematic viscosities as well OEM Mazda ATF FZ $11 00 qt Color - Blue, KV@40C - unknown, KV@100C - unknown Ravenol FZ Fluid
- ATF+4 Choices and Amsoil - BobIsTheOilGuy
AMSOIL's ATF on the other hand is a very generic type that they "recommend" for everything, but the reality is its a hyperfied Dexron Mercon like fluid Its impossible for it to satisfy everything out there because some are thicker, some are thinner, some need plenty of friction modifiers, some call for none
- Honda DW-1 Alternative | BobIsTheOilGuy
But if you look at the add packs (and 100C viscosity) of all the aftermarket ATF recommended suitable for Honda Z1 DW1 pinned at the top this subforum, all a little different And members have used them in place of DW1 Tells me, more than one way to skin a cat I will say newest ML ATF doesn't have the acrid smell of the previous ML
- Maxlife ATF Compatibility | BobIsTheOilGuy
I'm thinking of changing my neighbor's 2003 Honda CR-V transmission fluid to Valvoline Maxlife ATF Google says 2003 Honda CR-V uses ATF-Z1 fluid Maxlife ATF compatibility list says it's compitable with Honda ATF-Z1 (except in CVTs) What does CVT mean? Does CVT concern apply to a 2003 CR-V
- ATF 3353 vs. Dex III vs. Dex VI | BobIsTheOilGuy
ATF's shear down relatively fast It's not that Dexron III was aimed at some median viscosity but rather it was aimed at being ~6 cSt for most of it's service life and started out higher because they used cheap base stocks and the VII's they had back then were easily sheared RL Synthetic (they really need to rename it) is 7 2 cSt and synthetic
