Ive played Enigmatica like 2 years ago, and coming in fresh to ATM9 is very overwhelming I found 2-3 great YT vids where they cover 20-30 beginner tips each and ive been working my way through those as i slowly figure things out Its extra hard because things not only changed between 8 and 9, but even within ATM9 from when it released to now

Here is a video specifically made for beginners of ATM8 9, full of good tips Opening your map should have an option in the top left for Chunk Overlay, clicking on a chunk there will mark it as yours and not allow explosions to break blocks and Shift-clicking will chunk load that chunk so it will continue running whenever you're on (assuming it's an offline world)
