I came looking for guidance on this also as I plan to purchase a new 27” iMac to replace my mid-2011 model If I get 4 years of coverage automatically (1 yr Apple, 1 year Costco, 2 years Costco VISA), why buy AppleCar
- Use Case with AppleCare+? | MacRumors Forums
I always get AppleCare plus monthly with theft loss until I get rid of the phone then I can cancel The coverage is the same However, if you drop your phone you’ll just have to deal with not having one for quite a while unless you live close to an Apple Store to exchange it But I would always use a case
- AppleCare or no AppleCare: that is the question
Bought AppleCare for my iMac, of all things, and used it twice in the first three years: Liquid damage: Replaced my Magic Keyboard which had Touch ID and Numeric keypad; Faulty display: Two days after AppleCare had expired, I got the hotizontal lines: Apple graciously replaced it Replacing the keyboard alone covered the cost of AC

- Best Buy warranty vs AppleCare? - MacRumors Forums
My Thoughts on AppleCare vs Geek Squad I am also planning to purchase an insurance plan for my new iPhone5s and came here looking for information that compares AppleCare and GeekSquad The one thing to consider which no one has discussed is that AppleCare is a one-time upfront charge of $99 that covers 2 incidents with a deductible of $79 00
