- To brumate or not to brumate, that is the question.
I myself find that to be true with my tortoises Second, keepers who have large numbers of animals will brumate to take some of the work load and expense off of caring for so many through the winter months I personally don't necessarily agree with the second reason to brumate but that's a keepers choice

I don't think so It needs to be one way or the other Your idea is somewhere in the middle If you don't want to brumate them, then they need to be indoors where you can control the temp and lighting Outdoors subject to hot days, cold nights, and whatever the weather throws at you for the new few months, is not a good idea

Yes they really do brumate but you have to prepare them and do it right, which you are not So now you have to keep her up and not let her brumate They can't brumate with food in their gut, it will kill them So, make sure her enclosure is 80 all over during the day with a basking of 95-100 and brightly lit Night temps 70 30-50% humidity
