(hear me out) I recommend you change the keyboard layout to English (US) to check if the greater than lesser than symbol works on it, to ensure those keys are working, you simply need to use the shift with the Comma or Period (full stop) to use the aforementioned symbols, once you know it's working, we just need to use the right combinations
