I started using Bing just recently due to its AI capabilities and last week I set it up as the default search engine in my browser, but it grinds my gears that It doesn't let me open YouTube links as any other link Bing takes over and opens them in its own "Bing videos" tab by default, requiring you to look for the tiny globe icon that opens

Youtube video playback is far superior to the embedded view you get via bing results When you click the youtube link it will go to youtube but also leave the bing video playing in the background requiring you to close the old tab Edge should pause the bing embedded video once you click the youtube link so you don't have to do this

If I click a youtube link it means I want to enter youtube directly, not a mediocre bing interface in which the video is embedded and you can't even read comments From there I need to click once again in order to access the actual youtube page I dont use bing or google to stay there, I use them to actually get to the content I'm looking for

What solved to me was to add YouTube to the "Never sleeping apps" list in battery management (background usage limits) Additionally, open Google (the app) Then go to your profile (top right), settings, general, then disable "Open web pages in app"

So in my line of work, I regularly examine what the competition are doing with Bing's video search -- easily the one excellent component because it searches the video content of many websites I've got a friend here and I was demonstrating it and poof, its only returning youtube -- which is a website I have zero interest in which has its own
