The second option would be a 1754 or 1854 mud boat custom built by Prodigy boats with a Gator Tail mud motor This would obviously be the best choice for duck hunting, but I'm afraid would be the worst choice for fishing

A gatortail, gatortrax, prodrive, prodigy, uncle J, deadfowl, and maybe one or two others make boats built to perform well and last a very long time You pay more but you won't have a boat that looks like crumpled paper after a year and can't haul a buddy with you

As for hulls, pairing the hull and motor is very important for a SD (see posts above) but a hull from Gator Tail, Gator Trax, Prodrive, Prodigy, and Uncle J would be my most recommended but there are other good ones as well All will run well with an outboard as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

It helped on my other boat which is a 1448 riveted jon with a 12 hp copperhead That boat pushes out ok as well The ribs on the bottom of both hulls do make it a little tougher to push sideways, but when it comes to turning on the mud, it grips and goes My buddy has a prodigy that slid way too much on the mud Ended up on an oyster bed

Im buying a duck boat before next season and I'm having a hard time deciding which kinda motor I want to go with I mainly hunt big lakes but also want to start hunting the Ga coast some starting next season I was thinking a 1754 or 1860 Prodigy or Gatortail boat with either a GTR37 w a stage 1 or 2 kit, or a yamaha 70hp outboard with a jack
