Correct You can't use a locked Metro PCS phone on T-Mobile, but you CAN use a locked T-Mobile phone on Metro PCS As I'm sure was said above, it's because Metro subsidizes the cost of phones you buy through them, compared to full retail In return, the phones are locked to their service for a period of time (currently 180 days)

Metro PCS customer service says they cannot unlock the phone, because it shows in their system as BYOD, which to them means it is unlocked already, even though it isn't So I called T-Mobile customer service, but their reps cannot do anything either, since they need the T-Mobile account number that this phone is or has been associated with

ok so i put the sim back into the original phone and it reconnected and made a call and received a call so i went back to metro and again did the switch device and entered the new phone imei and also made sure the sim number was correct then the site said the device is active now but when i put the sim in that phone the phone tells me the sim is networked locked i have no clue what that
