You grounded something between the coil "tach" terminal and the fusebox (i e like in your circuit 'board')- if you ground the tach connector the coil will never power up The burnt part on your new board is also symptomatic of a bad ground- i e power found the easiest route to ground- which happened to be through the plastic cover

I know where you're coming from! You can't just hook up the battery cables, because the positive bolts to the starter, which went bye bye with the motor There should be a couple of wires going to the starter, one is for the solonoid, and the other carries the power from the + cable to the fusebox I think

I have already done some modififcation to the harness HEI and removed external voltage regulator, this stuff all seems to work What you are saying makes sense I need someone to look under hood on a '70-3 and see where the wire connects, either to the plug that goes into the firewall OR through the firewall and into the fusebox etc Thanks Brent

hey group got a car i am helping with and when the ignition is off the brake lights and reverse lights stay on the previous owner has put a toggle switch to cut power to fusebox to fix problem(big red wire in the engine bay going to firewall) well thats awful i know the brake lights are the switch and i have one of those coming but reverse lights
