The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is strengthening financial supports for Persons with Disabilities living with low incomes Our Poverty Reduction Plan includes new investments to increase benefits for people with low incomes Our total investment in social programs is almost $1 billion

The Newfoundland and Labrador Disability Benefit will come into effect in July 2025, and will include: Up to $400 per month to persons with disabilities; and, The $1,200 in the Registered Disability Savings Program (RDSP), which will begin in January 2025, for those that qualify

If your net income is less than your basic living requirements, you may be eligible for benefits while you are working This will be assessed when you apply Many expenses such as transportation and child care will be considered in assessing your eligibility for benefits
