- HFSS Sweeps:Discrete vs Interpolat vs. Fast - Forum for Electronics
HFSS chooses which frequency points are "ideal" for interplating the S-parameters The downside is that it does not produce fields (just S Y Z parameters) If you require a field solution in a specific frequency use an interpolating sweep together with a single frequency discrete sweep (use the same Setup - to reuse the mesh from the

- How does HFSS calculate Z Parameters? - Forum for Electronics
I plotted the Z parameters, notably the imaginary component as the real was ~=0 From this I calculated C from Z= 1 (jwC) \[\to\] C = -1 (2*pi*f*z), with ~=1pF results My advisor liked this but wanted to know how HFSS calculates Z parameters I tried to look online and through the help but I cannot figure it out Any help would be greatly

- Simulating Dielectric Interface in HFSS - Forum for Electronics
I am currently trying to simulate a reflection problem at a dielectric interface inside a parallel-plate waveguide using HFSS Unfortunately I haven't found a proper way to define the source(s) to find the reflection coefficient for oblique incidence angles The top view of the interface (inside the PPW) is shown below
- HFSS number of passes - Forum for Electronics
HFSS uses adaptive meshing, which is to say that it sets up an initial mesh, solves the fields, and then re-meshes based on where the fields have a high concentration and or gradient Each re-meshing step is called an "adaptive pass" Importantly, at each step, the scattering parameters are evaluated at each port, and compared to the previous step
