The hinges on my 68 Charger are a little hookie but not too bad yet You may luck out finding a decent used pair from a low mile car If you send them out for rebuild, I know there are a couple other shops out there but I would expect to spend more money these days with everything seems like prices have doubled since the Covid years

I have 8 sets of hinges Looks like 4- 71-74 B and 3- 66-70 Of the 4 71-74s 3 are 19 turn springs and 1 is 18 turn The sassy grass set came off an airgrabber car Of the 3 earlier design the 3 slot holes where the hood bolts matches the ones on my 69 bee Others I believe from 68 RR Also looks

Ok everyone, I had Mopar Leo restore my door hinges for my 69 Bee and let me tell you, when they arrived I was extremely impressed with his work and attention to detail Why? He goes over them with a fine tooth comb Sounds ****, but believe me he was able to find a crack in the door spring

The instructions in this kit are top notch I cannot say enough good things about dealing with Rick I started by taking a few pictures of the hinges to make sure they go back together in the same configuration as they were prior to the rebuild I began the restoration process by driving the pin out of the hinge

Has anyone successfully rebuilt hood hinges? My 1971 Charger are sloppy at the pivot points and it sits funny When I open the hood all the way, I can push the hood open further seeing slop in the connections or wallowed out at the pivot points on both sides I'm pretty sure this is wear and not correct, as one side seems worse than the other

Right now I have no springs on the hinges at all The springs do two things, they hold the hood UP and then they pull the back corners DOWN so the hood fits flush at the rear With no springs you have to push the back down after closing the hood

I rebuilt the door hinges by blasting them clean, grinding off hinge pin rivet head then removing it, line boring bracket and hinge holes to 4375 dia and making a new pin out hardened steel (Rc 28) with only 001 clearance, coated pin shaft with moly-disulfide dry film lubricant, welding and regrinding worn area on spring, and assembling by
