Why don't they test on the same book or use the IFSTA manuals to begin with Everything in my dept is based on the IFSTA manual (s) or other books EMS, HAZ MAT, etc, and the students know this and on day one they are told that all tests, exams will come from the manuals used by the academy

Generally, they will have their own preferred text books As an instructor I like to look at various books from various publishers and right now I have versions of essentials from Fire Engineering, NFPA, IFSTA and jones Bartlet Persoally I like fire Engineering's version the best But the college's i teach for use IFSTA

I have a question about ground ladder placement for fire suppression through a second story window Where do you place the ladder? When I went through Standards 2 years ago, I remember the instructors telling us to place the ladder over the the window per the IFSTA manual, but then them telling us that this is a danger as smoke and or fire could billow out toward you So the solution was told

Last winter while taking a Fire exam in North Dakota, we were given an exam question that asked about color codes for sprinkler systems Its been awhile since the test, but I think the colors were in reference to volume Anyone have any insight to this topic My textbook does not cover this topic in that much detail Also wondering about fire hydrant color codes?
