Discord automatically disables Krisp if it's affecting something too much I'd say Krisp's suppression is much better, and for me running on my potato it hasn't affected much I'd recommend you try it out with your friends, or use the "Test Mic" button and see (or hear) for yourself

I believe Krisp doesn't actually do active noise cancellation, it cleans noise out of audio for each party but it is a totally different concept from noise cancellation I had wondered if there are apps that are used for noise suppression that could be used on a big scale with a stereo to actively cancel street noise

The perceived quality you get is determined by how aggressively Krisp is filtering gating your mic The more noise it detects, the more it filters the audio and the more noticeable it impacts quality If it's not detecting much of anything or if your mic itself already does a good job of surpassing noise, it doesn't affect it as much

Mac also has a way to create aggregate audio sources This is a bit of a rabbit hole but I've done similar stuff before A little bit more technical but there are tons of videos online showing how to do the different parts to this idea But better than paying for something like Krisp and a better result IMO

Happens to me in both browser and app, I might ditch discord, I've done a full windows install, tried several audio drivers, tried a different mic, spent over 2 months fine tuning my system in the bios, bought brand new RAM for my 8 yr old system thinking it was RAM related (which it isnt ) so not only has chasing this problem cost me about 2 months of my time but actual money in the triple
