HD used to carry a Lesco 13-3-13 palm and ornamental, and generally speaking I think it worked better than the "value" brands But they quit carrying it and switched to a Lesco palm 8-10-10, which has waaaaay too much phosphorus for Florida soils I found Lesco 510268 and 511414 at my local SiteOne, and probably will try that this summer

Salt burn is always from the nitrogen content being too high that and the person fertilizing the palm used way tooooo much It's just much safer to use an 8-2-12 fertilizer on a knee high palm without any unwanted salt burn If you used a 13-3-13 Lesco fertilizer on small palm, you run the risk of burning the entire palm up

I've been buying from Brandt (formely Agra Chem) for years off and on Hence, I've been feeding all of my palms with either Growers Palm Special 12-4-12-2 or Lesco 13-3-13 or Lesco 8-10-10 I have one butiagrus palm and it has about 5 feet of trunk and a full, green canopy Not a trace of potassium deficiency in it

Most of my older fronds are showing yellow spots I use Lesco or Suregrow 8-2-12, but my house was build on muck-fill which is mostly sand Looks like I may need Potassium (K) Lesco has a combo called K-Mag What dosage is anyone using, as I'm always afraid to overdose with any suppliments! I tried that formulation of lesco for a year, it didn't address my bailey nutrient deficiencies the off label can onlh be bought in bulk as far as I know, 20 50 lb bags or more There may be a store down on pine island that sells smaller amounts I heard about it a few years ago from Larry Joliffe(spockyVR6 on this board)
