I only remember machines (specifically the Metallurgic Infuser) needing Redstone for the tier 2 alloys (or tier 1 if you count Redstone as tier 1 or tier 0), or powering machines if you don't have any Otherwise I don't remember any use of Redstone in the Gas machines (maybe only for the recipe of making the machine but not used in Gas recipes) or even the Fission Reactor which I had explode
