- Nitron Finish Demystified | SIG Talk
The Nitron finish on my Sigs is still in excellent condition My 1994 P229 probably has the best condition of all, except for the 1 month old M11-A1 Even my 2006 2007 LEO P226 trade-ins are still completely intact I don't see any wear on any of the finish, but there are a couple of 1mm X 1mm "chips" in the Nitron near sharp edges
- P226 - Full size Nitron vs. MK25? - SIG Talk
Handled both yesterday at my LGS, and the MK25 trigger is head and shoulders better than the standard Nitron or Enhanced Elite P220, P290RS, P238 SportS12, P225-A1 Reactions: SlySleuth , TXSouthpaw , Papa Sig and 1 other person
- Some Straight Talk about the *New Legion finish | SIG Talk
Let's examine the DURABILITY and WEAR characteristics of the new Cerakote Legions, versus stock Nitron as well as some aftermarket options A bit of background: I like the regular Sig Nitron finish It looks great, it's tough, it matches the alloy frame anodizing nicely and, IN MY EXPERIENCE, it's far more wear-resistant than Cerakote
- Sig Nitron Finish Comments
Nitron holds up well but its durability will vary from gun-to-gun Over time, any finish will show wear marks and sometimes will take on stains from exposure to chemicals Display guns in a gun shop often get a lot of handling by customers
- Cerakote over Nitron - SIG Talk
Hey all, I just scored a P226 ZEV and I was wondering about having it cerakoted I've seen some high-end 1911's with Cerakote over parkerizing, but not nitron Any experience appreciated!
- P226 ELITE vs other P226s - SIG Talk
I went with the Legion LE with nitron finish over the Elite in the P226 I'm A fan of the G10 grips, it is optic ready, and the trigger is very good out of the box I went the opposite route with the P220 I went with the Elite and it came with those hideous E2 grips so I swapped them out immediately with G10's and added a SuperStrut
- Legion PVD Coating vs. Nitron Coating - SIG Talk
Honestly Sig needs to go finally with a Nitriding finish or Ilaflon like the German guns (SP2022's and some of the P226's and P229's) The PVD seems to hold the grease lube better than Nitron, but people will always have different experiences
- Black Nitron Finish - SIG Talk
I have 2 little spots on my Black Nitron P238 where the black nitron finish was scraped off - no scratch in the metal though My spots are pretty small so I used a tooth pick to touch the paint to each spot Waited about 2 seconds and then lightly dabbed each spot with a dry cloth so as not to leave any excess
