Because the most recent version of optifine available is for 47 1 43 and that's a review version, so no you cannot use optifine and forge for any version of forge after 47 1 43 and even if you do downgrade your forge to accommodate, some 1 20 1 mods are incompatible with it, i found that out trying forge 47 0 35 most good 1 20 1 mods like aether and twilight forest need 47 1 or higher to work

I extracted the Optifine file into my minecraft mod folder and everytime I loaded into a world, I'd get a crash report with the -1 Exit Code one After a few hours of trying to fix this, I realised I wasn't on the version of forge that the most recent 1 18 2 Optifine was on

For some reason, optifine on my Minecraft works far better than sodium (and its related mods) The twist is that my fps in Optifine goes around 40-80+fps while Sodium with its related mods goes around 20-38+fps when playing on a server my friend created
