A posi (aka Limited Slip Diff), does not completely lock both sides Only spools do that Automatic lockers (Lock-rite, Detroit, etc) lock and unlock automatically as needed

A posi or limited slip is another option They split the difference between an open axle and a locker They behave well on the road and "limit" slip off road They are in the price range of the less expensive lockers

I have a 2WD 2017 tacoma acces cab How hard is it to put a posi in the rear? Can I just switch the carrier bearings and go, or does the lash have to be reset? Is there a video, somewhere? I'm moving to Denver and I can't afford a 4WD truck right now YDGTV6 is the Eaton number I have come up with Is that the one? or is there a better choice?

Back when I had my 89 toy, the rear end had been welded solid for posi Although not great for driving around town awsome for mudding, hunting truck Anybody ever do this as I Trying to remember how to do another truck We took back cover off rear end and welded somthing in center of rear end Also my 89 also had add which sucked

I appreciate the feedback Having a posi locker in the front would give me a bit of extra capability I rarely get stuck but recently stuck the Taco really well in a creek bed while scrounging gravel Once you step off the gravel bars, you will high center in the blue clay if the tires spin much at all It only took a few minutes to winch out

Posi and a locker are VERY different You can drive on the street with posi (which is GM domestic equipment, anyway) With a locker engaged on the street, you may very well damage some of your drivetrain Posi still allows for *some* side to side movement (for going around corners) but a locker is 100% locked
