SourceForge and Slashdot were bought out early last year and one of the new owner's first moves was to clear all the SourceForge-bundled garbage from the installers Developers can still include their own adware, same as they could if they hosted it anywhere else, but SourceForge itself no longer injects any junk into the downloads
