SteamOS comes zip compressed All you need to do is download SteamOS, move it (zipped) to a FAT32 formatted USB drive (Or FAT32 Partition on your USB drive), unzip, wait for completion, delete the old SteamOS zip and reboot your PC to install, preferably without Secure Boot as it screws things up the old Debian 8 "Jessie" that SteamOS is based on

Just writing to let you all know that the SteamOS PC is already here, even using the stock Steam Deck restore image I was able to boot, and install (with a quick mod to the restore script to use dev sda) the stock image to a mini ryzen PC (5500U, 64GB ram, oculink Radeon 7600XT) Everything works great, even the 2 5Gbe I will not be going back to Windows on my gaming PC

and SteamOS is basically stripped down Arch Linux tailored for steam deck machines, where you don't need libreoffice, mail app, and other stuff, you power on, and play games, that is it Ahhhh didn't know it was arch, I might try installing arch from 0 with a tutorial thanks for that alternative
