- [How2] Basic Installation Guide [Windows] - Homecoming
Pretty sure this is the general settings folder for the games and launcher It also includes those text files for things like Keybinds and others originally found in the Tequila root folder The Official Tech Deep Dive:
- Tequila Just Wont Launch. . . - Help Support - Homecoming
Tequila (it's a launcher) is for windows and Island Rum is for Mac Once you have downloaded the game files you stick them in a place like C:\Games\City of Heroes then you install Tequila (or Island Rum) right inside that City of Heroes folder Now you should have the Tequila exe and other tequila files and the game files all mixed together
- Getting Started - Homecoming
The launcher will copy over most files (both game data and saved settings, costumes, etc) from an existing Tequila install if one exists Installing City of Heroes on Mac OS X Note: This launcher is provided by a 3rd party and isn't officially supported by Homecoming
- Link to download Tequila launcher isnt working
Might I recommend downloading the Homecoming Launcher instead of Tequila? It works better in my experience and downloads patches updates pretty intuitively @WanderingAries wrote a great post on how to transition to the HC launcher from Tequila, but the installation would be the same even if you hadn't downloaded Tequila
- Tequila Launcher Fails to Launch CoH - Help Support - Homecoming
This same issue happened with the first install on this system, so I deleted everything, erased the tequila registry, then did a clean install of the client, then the game I was able to launch and create a character However, after issues with apparent lag and dropped NPC conversations in the Outbreak Tutorial, I crashed and this issue returned
- Tequila Error - Help Support - Homecoming
If I perform a fresh install from another location (eg , download the new exe to E:\, and then direct Tequila to E: City of Heroes), it hangs on "fetching manifest" and never progresses Another oddity I noticed is that the original Tequila exe deletes itself when installing (a Tequila exe is then created in the chosen install location)
- Transitioning from Tequila to Homecoming Launcher
Under Tequila, the default location for bind load save and most option, window and other files is [GAME ROOT]\data A bit annoyingly, a few of these files get written to the game root folder A bit annoyingly, a few of these files get written to the game root folder
- Should I get rid of Tequila? - Homecoming
Tequila and the HC launcher are two self-contained, independent programs Removing Tequila will not break anything (I did it once to switch to Island Rum for Windows before switching back), you just won't be able to use it to launch the game - which is okay if you're satisfied with the new HC launcher
