- Thinking of VWR Springs for MK7 GTI 18 - GOLFMK7
I am thinking of getting VWR lowering springs for my MK7 GTI Has anyone regretted the move from stock to VWR? I am looking for: getting rid of the wheel gap, better handling and steering response I am concerned of: too harsh of a ride and raking the asphalt in places I currently have Mich PSS 18x225x40 on Sparco Asseto Gara 18x8
- VWR springs ruined my stock shocks. . . what to choose from here? - GOLFMK7
Which led me to VWR's own shocks good price and *should* work together nicely The one thing holding me back is VWR says to expect a 15mm - 25mm drop with their shocks and springs together I messaged them and they said it would be rare to expect more than 25mm Which seems like less than I'm at now with the worn stock ones
- Anyone using VWR Springs - GOLFMK7
From my personal experience on my 2017 Sport, VWR lowered me more than 1", closer to 1 25" for me I paired them with Bilstein B8 shocks and rode them for probably 6 or so months I became disenchanted with the ride quality and switched to H R OE Sport springs and am much much happier and am just under a 1" drop, though they say 75" I believe
- VWR vs Emmanuele Design springs - GOLFMK7
I've had VWR and now H R OE Sport, both on Bilstein B8 thanks to Hammersticks, his advice, and great in-person help The VWR's dropped me 1 3" The H R dropped me 8" I like the ride of the H R better It's more forgiving, I don't feel like I gave up that much handling going back up a little higher, and I don't bottom out as easily anywhere
- VWR R600 Part 2 - Install and final thoughts - GOLFMK7
VWR claims this is vastly larger than the stock airbox - it MIGHT be 1 5 times the size of the stock unit in terms of internal volume, but that doesn't really matter when you're sucking air from holes as big as there are in both the OEM airbox and this R600 unit
- VWR R600 - Initial impressions and review - Part 1
Also, I'm an F1 fan, so the VWR R600 with it's totally enclosed TriFoam filter was appealing I pulled the trigger and got one with SAI from USP Motorsports - and couldn't be happier with the speed of service and packaging they did on this (also got the Spulen intake hose and the GFB DV+ from them as well) - excellent customer service and I'll
- Anyone running the VWR Springs Strut kit? - GOLFMK7
The VWR kit feels very "OEM-like" The ride is still compliant and comfortable I won't lie and say its as smooth or cushioned as stock, but its akin to the suspension in a sportier factory car if that makes sense
- 7+ years on VWR springs | GOLFMK7 - VW GTI MKVII Forum VW Golf R . . .
One of the first mods I did to my 15 was VWR springs (back when they were blue) It’s been 7+ years and with about 40k miles on them, 0 tracking but some spirited mountain drives they’ve behaved great and gave me a nice drop Virtually no noise…until recently my rear left has been creaking
