I have uninstalled Whatsapp and dowloaded the ltest directly (v 2323 24 11 0) and the app icon now is grey and is named Whatsapp (Outdated) and still the app displays the banner saying the app is outdated when it's not

That link is for the now defunct, better but "outdated" app Upon installing it, it gives me about a minute before I'm logged out and asked to download from Microsoft However,the one from the MS Store doesn't download--mine has been "downloading" for hours

I've the same issue My installed WhatsApp Desktop version is 2 2314 11 As far as I know, that is latest version The application says that new version is available If I click, via Microsoft Store something gets installed This is an older version

Have you checked the list for the Name of the WhatsApp application on your computer Get-AppxPackage | Select Name, PackageFullName Run this command in Powershell (admin) it will open a list look for the name of the Whatsapp application Replicates the Command: Get-AppxPackage "put the application name here" | Remove-AppxPackage
