It is for focal seizures We have seen the seizures go from unaware to aware and shortened Currently titrating down on briviact- and hopefully Vimpat too As a caregiver I noticed within first week a change in seizures Even did a 5 day VEEG They removed Vimpat And briviact- it wasn’t till we delayed the xcopri that seizures arose

Xcopri first made me extremely tired and I gained about 15 lb It caused constipation too - but generic fiber supplements from CVS fixed that I suspect the weight gain was caused by the fact I was sleeping so much for the first 3-4 months 10 or 11 hours a day was common Those side effects are fading now

Xcopri was just approved by the FDA in November 2019 and didn't get on the market until sometime in the spring of 2020 I started Xcopri last fall For me, this is the most powerful medication I've ever taken (and I've tried a dozen of them plus several combos)

Xcopri also works on GABA Gabaergic drug I haven’t tried it yet, but if it is anything like vimpat or aptiom, or even lamotrigine Be prepared to feel: tired,irratable and even unmotivated Of course the side effects will also vary from person to person and their own each unique body chemistry There is also no generic available yet for Xcopri

Xcopri titration is a long process- 2 weeks per step, working up does in 6 steps from 12 5mg to 25-50-100-150-200 The seizures stopped about 6-10 weeks in or so Titrating the Epidiolex down was easy- no other symptoms from dropping that medicine, other than improved digestive issues

I don’t know for sure if Xcopri is the cause of my complex partial seizures changing but I can’t figure what else it could be In those last days that I was on Xcopri the side effects got worse and included vomiting and drastic blurry vision I could barely see in front of myself I was on Xcopri in 2020 for however long that trial pak is

I am taking Xcopri 200mg daily and Briviact 100mg 2x daily, to treat complex and simple partials which have recurred since having a temporal lobe resection last March Like most polytherapy treatments for seizure the biggest side effect is sleepiness (somnolence)
