I picked up a pond yacht this past weekend It belonged to a neighbor who gave it to us "kids" 25 years ago So, on the trip home to visit the grandparents, I retrieved it from the basement and son and I hope to give "Bourtai" new life on Walden Pond Here are some pictures: Anyone out there know anything about this boat???

Re: Antique pond yacht question Sounds like some sort of basic self steering gear meant to keep the yacht on a set course (How can autocorrect translate 'steering' as 'catering'?) I have a small collection of pond yachts but prefer to keep them in the condition as found rather than restore them

Skene's Elements of Yacht Design and Chapelle's Yacht Designing and Planning only describe basic tapering profiles but I need to know more about the mechanics of how the bowsprit is secured to the boat aft of the gammon iron
