I’m pretty sure that the Insight doesn’t have an alternator or a power steering pump (steering is electric) What other systems have been eliminated?

Has anybody else had this issue? The Honda manual recommends using sport mode to go up hills to avoid transmission wear Ive noticed a strong burning smell a few times after going up steep hills at 30-35 mph for a few minutes

The eCVT "transmission" operates by the interaction of two electric motors plus a clutch There isn't a straightforward way to check the transmission fluid level but it would only be concerning if you saw a puddle or leak

The manual (page 557) clearly says to change oil when the oil indicator reads 15% I'm at 4,100 miles on my Insight and the oil indicator reads 70% remaining If that continues, it will be well over 10,000 miles before my first oil change I'm assuming at the factory they did not use synthetic

The Toyota eCVT is fantastic, and it's variable ratios let it cruise in a tall gear ratio for the benefits that offers Where I'm fairly certain the Insight has a single set gear ratio (?) So it's too short for the same mpg at highway speeds; but the serial hybrid setup is superior to Toyota in city driving

Maybe they're similar related enough since same model but was the 2019 Toyota Camry the 'traditional' SE trim (203 HP, 2 5L, 4 cylinder, 8-speed - 32 mpg combined), or the Hybrid SE trim (208 HP 2 5L 4-cylinder eCVT - 46 mpg combined)? Assume it was the hybrid trim, since compared to Insight?
