Hi jav123, I've no personal experience of Mark Grant cables, but I do agree with Fe_man2000 post regarding switching of 'budget' cables for more expensive ones and seeing no discernable difference in quality of picture (using the Digital Video Essentials blu-ray)

jav123, I had the same question doubts Theoretically, if you use Linear PCM in the blu-ray options, the PS3 will do the decoding (while watching blu-rays) If you select bitstream, the PS3 will send the packed data to the AMP and the AMP will do the decoding of the sound
